New Banner...

I've been experimenting with a new banner for both my blog and etsy site. Here is an in process shot...
I wanted to work with soft photography and textures.
It was too busy so I decided upon something simpler...
with some advice from Alberto Rigau, I am trying to incorporate my handmade work into the computer without it being so flat. Drop shadow please - that was all it took.

Letterpress

One of the things I've been struggling with in graphic design this year is the loss of the handmade craft. Needless to say I was excited and re inspired when we were shown....
The Letterpress Room.

I feel at home again and am pretty sure of what direction I'd like to head in...

Guillaume Apollinaire worked at the same time as the futurists to "liberate words". Just some early graphic design work I found interesting.

Saul Steinberg

These are some works I recently stumbled upon by Saul Steinberg. He illustrated for the New Yorker during the 20th century. His works are truly beautiful and I love the aesthetic he's captured. It's inspiring to see early collage, mixed media, and print works.
